DOROTHY MAY MONTAGNON (nee SIMS) Peacefully with her family at her side, our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 90 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Armand, brother Percy Sims and brother-in-law Oliver Schneider. She is survived by her three daughters, Annette (Pat), Andrea and Leslie, her nine Grandchildren Amber (Joe), Mara (Sal), Adam, Seth, Jonah, Rachel, Micah, Dana and Meirav, four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jordan and Asher Cohen and Meir Pellettieri. She is also survived by her two brothers, Stanley (Alice) and Wes (Sylvia) Sims, Sister Lillian Schneider and sister-in-law Anne Sims. Mom was born in Bowsman, Manitoba on March 2, 1922. She moved to Winnipeg in the early 1940s and this is where she met our father. They enjoyed 49 years together before Dad's passing in 1991. Mom loved to go berry picking and she was noted for all her canned goods and frozen berries. She was a fabulous cook and even better baker. Her pastries were amazing. She also was a member of the Fort Rouge Legion and would have received her 35 year pin this fall. She spent many a Saturday afternoon there playing Bingo. She adored her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In later years mom slowed down quite a bit but still loved to get her hair done every Friday and go shopping at the mall. The family would like to thank Residence Despins for the care given to our mother during the past three and a half months for her residing there. We would also like to thank the entire staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital, 6th floor, for the compassionate care given to our mother. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Andrea, I enjoyed the times that I spent with you and your Mom, you picking me up and then your Mom, to take her to her jobs around the city. She was still working way past retirement. She was amazing. She was sharp right up until the end. I know she loved to get her hair done. She was a great lady....and I do mean very much a lady. - Posted by: Wayne and Judie Oldfield (Friend of Andrea) on: Aug 09, 2012
