MARGARET (PEGGY) GEIGER
Date of Passing: Aug 13, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) GEIGER Early in the morning on August 13, 2012, our Aunt Peg passed away peacefully. She came to Winnipeg from her beloved England as a young war bride with her husband, Anthony. Tony and Peg bought a home in Charleswood, where they lived happily with their daughter Victoria (Vicky) until Tony's death, over 40 years ago. Peggy taught many young people at Marvel School of Hairdressing where she enjoyed her work for several years. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Tony, her daughter Vicky, her brother Peter, and by her sisters, Gwyn, Helen and Caddie. She leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews with their families in England and in Ontario. She also leaves to mourn her adopted family: Dorothy Lother, Curt Lother and Marie Giasson and family, and Carla Lother and Richie Stotts. We would like to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital, Thorvaldson's Care Centre and Vista Park Lodge for their care over the last year. We also wish to thank members of the Giasson family, the Sumners family and the staff at Place Louis Riel. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to a charity of choice. Peggy's favourite was the Humane Society. A drop in reception to celebrate Peggy's life will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the home of Curt Lother and Marie Giasson, 42 Southfileds Drive, Winnipeg. Mrs. Geiger was my Hairdressing Instructor 50 years ago and an excellent instructor she was. Through her guidance I had a very sucessful career as a Hair Stylist. I take off my hat to you Peggy and thank you for sharing part of your journey with me. Clifford Horsfall - Posted by: Clifford Horsfall (Friend) on: Aug 21, 2012

I remember Mrs. Geiger as my very first instructor at Marvel Hairdressing School upstairs on Portage Ave. She was a no- nonsense, firm but wise person with her students. I'll always remember her lecture about "never talk politics, or religion with a client". She taught us the old fashioned way of doing a proper shampoo. I use it to this day! Thank you Mrs. Geiger! - Posted by: Tammie Dueck (student of Marvel 1986) on: Aug 18, 2012
