Very sorry to have lost my last old friend. We had been friends since grade 5 at Greenway School to the present time. Since moving to Toronto, Alvena always kept me up to date on the Winnipeg news. I will miss her. My sincere condolances to the family. Gladys - Posted by: GLadys Kelly (Longtime friend) on: Sep 01, 2012

Alvena was such a True Blue fan! I smile as I recall her hiding her eyes before every Bomber field goal attempt.I will miss our phone conversations, lunches out,and exchange of correspondence. I know she is happily re-united with Tammas. - Posted by: Sandy Stalder (friend) on: Sep 01, 2012

So very sorry to hear of Alvena's passing. She was a great neighbour and so loved her home and garden. We have lived across the back lane from her for 22 years. I loved always seeing her going to and from Pembina to catch the bus to downtown. She was always so well dressed (hat included)! Our thoughts are with the family. - Posted by: Debbie Adamchuk (Neighbour) on: Aug 29, 2012
