H.L Softley school was not for the mentally disabled, (at least not between 1989 - 2000's) but for young children between kindergarten to grade 3. It was used as a pre-school and kindergarden for capable children and he was often spoken highly of from my teachers and peers but I never knew what became of the school. Many fond memories of that location. Thank you Mr. Softly for erecting it in the first place and giving a place for so many children to learn and grow! - Posted by: Student at H.L Softley () on: Aug 12, 2013

Mr. Donald Softly is obviously the son of the much respected H.L. Softly who worked so hard for mentally challenged people. Mr. H.L.Softly also had a school, for the mentally and physically challenged named after him on Birchdale Avenue in the Norwood Flats. I volunteered at that school many yrs ago and still live across the street. May your brother rest in peace. - Posted by: Claudia Beischer (admiration) on: Aug 27, 2012
