I just heard of Chander's passing today and I am deeply shocked and saddened. I met Chander in my second year of university through our mutual friend, Likey. We were friends throughout university and I remember with great fondness studying together, spending time at his home with Rita, his brothers and warm and caring parents. Our birthdays are on the same day, although I'm older. Chander was intelligent, kind and caring and able to charm everyone he met. I'm sorry we lost touch after university. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends for this terrible loss. - Posted by: Miriam Fliegel (Old friend from university) on: Oct 19, 2012

I knew Chander some time ago, and only through a mutual friend, Rocky La Fleur, who was kind enough to send me this notice. Long lives are filled with people whom we see and then, for no particular reason, don't see. But if one is lucky, one meets people like Chander, who remain always in the memory as a delightful human being and one whom it was an honor and a pleasure to have known. I send you all my condolences. Mark Greenberg - Posted by: Mark Greenberg (friend, but from a long time ago) on: Sep 05, 2012

Sincere condolences to the Family. I fondly recollect Chander’s bright and sweet nature, wit and intelligence, evident even as a teenager, when we were undergraduates with Rita. It is a shocking and terrible loss. Heartfelt affection and warm appreciation for the special memories of your wonderfully welcoming Family that remain with me to this day. Chander was very fortunate. - Posted by: VIctoria Lehman (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2012

I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Chander's untimely passing. We met many years ago when we worked together at the youth hostel at the old Fort Garry Motel on Pembina Highway and were friends throughout university. We lost contact when I left Winnipeg to pursue my university studies. However, I remember the many laughs we had, his megawatt smile, and how well he always spoke of Tony, Ricky and Rita and of his parents. My deepest condolences on your loss. - Posted by: Likey Segal (née Shklarsky) () on: Aug 29, 2012

Chander was the first person I met in the building I live in ~ that was in 1993/94. We became fast friends and I am deeply saddened and shocked by the news of his death. He was elegant, truly. Generous to a fault, charming, bright and so very private. I have to believe he is in a better and happier place as his last months were very painful for him. I hope he is surrounded by Rhett and Savannah and they are romping in a field that is eternally filled with sunshine. I love you Chander. xo lisa - Posted by: lisa mionie (friend) on: Aug 29, 2012
