Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURENT JOSEPH ALEXANDER CHAPDELAINE January 2, 1936 August 27, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather Laurent Chapdelaine on Monday, August 27, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his father Alexander, mother Bernadette and brother Aimé. Laurent will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan and his children Cheryl (Mike), Cindy, Angela, Evelyn (Rhéal), Laurent (Allison). He will always be cherished by his grandchildren Jason, Kyle, Cory, Brett, Eric, Nathalie, Wyatt and Elle. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Jeanne (Ed), Leah and George (Virginia), his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Laurent was born in Regina and moved to Winnipeg when he was a young man. While he worked at various jobs throughout his life, it was his love of truck driving that carried into his personal life spawning many family trips. In particular were trips out West visiting family with Joan and his children. Laurent was married to the love of his life Joan for 54 years. Travel was one of his and Joan's biggest joys including trips to Hawaii, Australia, Europe, China, the US and all across Canada. Given his magnetic outgoing personality, many lifelong friends were made along their travels. Laurent was a remarkable man who made his mark in the world with his trademark laugh and witty sense of humour. He mostly cherished all the time spent with his family and friends. His love surrounds us still and we are blessed for having shared our lives with him. The family cannot give enough thanks to the caring staff at the Palliative Care unit at St. Boniface Hospital. They made Laurent's last days comfortable and dignified. In keeping with Laurent's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a funeral mass celebrating his life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. Family and friends are welcome to sign the book of condolences at ejcoutu.com. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com

I loved my Uncle very much. I loved his laugh. When I went to the Keg, I would hear that laugh and I knew it was Uncle Laurent. Where There IS Love Nothing is impossible where there is love, There is no mountain that love cannot climb; no ocean that love cannot cross; no desert that love can not survive; no winter that love can not warm. Where there are shadows of uncertainty, love will overcome with the sunshine of faith. Where there are clouds of confusion, love will prevail with the rainbow of hope. Loving and being Loved are what life itself is all about. No matter the time or the place, nothing is impossible where there is LOVE. To you Aunty Joan, Love was the Key to 54 years of Love - Posted by: Adele Chapdelaine (Niece) on: Feb 26, 2013
