MARY SKRABYK Peacefully with her family by her side, Mom passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Arborg District Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her children Len (Bev), Bill (Lorraine), Linda (Dave), and Larry (Renata); grandchildren and great-grandchildren Shannon, Kevin (Lisa), Page and Riley; Erin, Ryan (Tara), Emma and Nate; Morris, and Teula (Dan). Mom is survived by her sisters Sofie, Helen and Rose. She was predeceased by her husband Roy; brothers Mike and Steve; and her grandson Dwaine. To share what our mother was all about is a quote from her grandson, Morris, which sums up the great person she was and we could not have said it better, My Grandmother has the wisdom of experience and the love of an understanding heart. She is more interested in the happiness of her family than anything else in the world. She is a wonderful person to know and to love. You are the heart of an entire family that loves you and looks up to you with respect and pride. Mom had the love and respect of many wonderful friends, of all ages. Close and special friends Margie Swar, Margie Podaima, Donny and Virginia Zembik, just to mention a few. Mom wanted us to thank the wonderful staff at the Arborg District Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion and we as a family also thank you. You were a once in a lifetime Mom. For which we all say thank you. We love you Mom. At Mom's request a private family service was held on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at the Poplarfield Community Cemetery. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. Missing you lots Baba. At work the other day a lady came in and smelt like your perfume. A year or two back Dad and I made pierogies from your recipe. We made them for a special dinner at the Cafe I own, and they were a huge hit, no surprise. They will never taste as awesome as yours though! I love you, and miss you so much. We are so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was a very special person with whom I always enjoyed to chat with every time I ran into her in Arborg. Her home was always open to all when I was growing up in Poplarfield & they had the pool hall. I will truly miss her.
