ALMA FILLION (CHAMPAGNE)
Date of Passing: Sep 05, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA FILLION (nee CHAMPAGNE) It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my dear mother, Alma Fillion, (nee Champagne), on September 5, 2012 at the age of 74 years. She is survived by me her son, Raymond Champagne; her sisters, Jeannette Dupuis (Jean-Guy), Noella Delorme (Raymond), Lucille Giesbrecht (Ben), Anna Dupuis (Marcel), Agnes Champagne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Annie (nee Siemens) Champagne, her first born son Barry, and her sisters Denise and Doris. She was a very independent, beautiful woman and quick witted, with a heart of gold who always loved having a good laugh. She loved dancing, enjoying life, and baking, and always loved telling me she loved me. Against all odds she persevered living life to the best of her abilities despite the fact schizophrenia robbed her of continuing living a healthy and fruitful life, ever since it was diagnosed after marriage where she then divorced. Sadly we had to endure seeing her suffer countless times. We believe she is at peace in heaven, like an angel singing to her heart's content with her dad who was a famous singer in the Catholic community, and at last holding my step brother Barry in her arms... We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the wonderful care and support provided by the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris while she resided there. The funeral service will be held at the United Church in Morris on Saturday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Morris Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society. Mom, thank you for being there for me. I know you always did the best you could at all times despite the lifelong hardship you endured... And I will forever love you for it... Always in my thoughts...forever in my heart...your # 1 son...Raymond..xox Morris Funeral Home 204-746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451 www.morrisfuneralhome.ca

Although we did not see each other much in the past several years, you were often in my thoughts and prayers. While we will miss our dear sister and auntie very much, it is of great relief to you that your suffering has ended, and that you are now resting with our other missed family members. Love always, Gaylene xoxo - Posted by: Gaylene Draper (Niece) on: Sep 11, 2012
