Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN HELENA EVENSON 1944 - 2012 Evelyn Evy Evenson, 68 years of Winnipeg, formerly of Reinland, MB, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2012 after succumbing to cancer at St. Boniface Hospital. She was born on May 25, 1944 to Katherina Klassen and Francis Evenson both of whom she leaves to mourn her departure - as well as her three sons: Tony (Julie) Ricard, Dan (Desiree) Ricard, Maurice (Nicole) Ricard, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two brothers. Evy treasured the friends and years of her youth especially playing baseball, singing in choir and being on the farm. She loved to write, study nature and masterfully create and gift crafts of all kinds. She moved to Winnipeg where she was married and worked at VIA Rail and later Fabricland until her retirement. She faithfully cared for her ailing mother and loved her grandchildren. Evy's special joy was reconnecting with her childhood friends in later life. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me - Psalm 23:4 Viewing will be 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13 and one hour prior to the service. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012. Both viewing and service held at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill St. in Morden with interment to follow at the Norwegian 1-5 Cemetery. To the Family - May God comfort your Grieving Heart. "Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 KJV Evelyn was a very dear friend to me from the time we met in 2000. We enjoyed attending Craft Class together in Frederiction Junction. She was so helpful in teaching me to sew - and we had such fun - at the end of one year she told me "You've Come a Long Way"! We enjoyed our time together whether it was our walks on the Meadow Brook Road (Wirral) just having a "coffee" together, a chat or working on a project. Don and I especially appreciated her help, support & wonderful sense of humour when my Dad passed away. I am so grateful we kept in contact with each other when she moved to Winnipeg, whether it was by email or snailmail, all through the years. I am so thankful I spoke with Evelyn last month and had a good chat with her. I shall miss Evelyn dearly. We have placed a Memorial in "Evelyn's" name to the Gideons International in Canada, who place Scriptures & Bibles in facilities. Sylvia & Don Keeping everyone in "Prayer".
