AKIN OGIDAN September 9, 1987 - September 10, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Akin Ogidan of Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 10, 2012. Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Best friend, brother from another mother. We had our good times, and our bad times. We argued like brothers do. We knew how to make each other laugh. Walk with me Akin. I know your smiling down on me. Much love brother. R.I.P. - Posted by: Jeffrey Tait (Sayso) (best friend/brother) on: Apr 12, 2014

  • Terribly sorry to learn of Akin's passing. Met Akin back in 7th grade as we both took band class, and Van Welleghem's band was merged with ours at Linden Meadows. Was always enjoyable bumping into Akin over the years because he always treated you the same way, and was still the same friendly, kind hearted person no matter what it was that he seemed to have going on in his life. Nothing but kind words to say about him. RIP - Posted by: Chris Olson () on: Sep 18, 2012

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the Ogidan family in their time of loss. I only knew his sister Anne but she always talked about her big brother. God bless. - Posted by: Debbie Godfrey () on: Sep 17, 2012

  • I grew up down the street and around the corner from Akin and his family. Everytime Akin and I encountered each other, nothing but kind words were exchanged.... I will never forget how humble his presence was. Such a beautiful soul I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories GOD BLESS - Posted by: Lindenwoods Homie (Neighbour & friend) on: Sep 17, 2012

  • Rip to good soul...I've known Akin for a while now and both his sisters...why can't the good die old instead of so young? My love and condolences go to the Ogidans <3 - Posted by: Jordan reaves (Friend) on: Sep 17, 2012

  • I met Akin when I was 14 years old. He was the most polite, moral guy I have ever met. He always brought me home, to make sure I arrived safe, even if that meant bussing from one side of the city to the other. He was honest and humble. I had long conversations with Akin about God and if any of you are scared about where he is, STOP. He is in heaven with his lord Jesus Christ who he defiantly accepted into his heart. I will never forget the last conversation he had with me, I believe God will have me share it with selected few of his friends. Akin had big dreams and though this is tragic, sad and unfair I believe that God who stared a God work in Akin, will finish it!!!.. I know his passing will affect many to make a change. I love you Akin. Praying for your family and friends. I will see you again one day. - Posted by: Carla Geddes (Old friend) on: Sep 16, 2012

  • So sad to lose such a great friend. I've enjoyed making music with u. One of the best artists to ever bless my mic. I remember when I was just a child, when my brothers and I would hang out at your house, I noticed you were eating a mustard sandwich hahaha. I went home and tried the same thing but it wasn't as pleasing to me LoL ima miss you bro. Although it wasn't very often, I'm glad to have still seen you around as we all grew older. Rest easy homie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family - Posted by: kemp kanadian king jones. (life long friend) on: Sep 16, 2012

  • Akin, every day that passes I miss you more and more. It's hard for me to wake up every morning and believe you're actually gone. My last few memories with you are fond ones, and I will never forget them! You had such a kid heart, nice to everyone who you crossed paths with! You had the most amazing, big bright smile I have ever seen and your laugh is so memorable I can still hear it :) I know you're in a better place, and I will see you again some day! I love you big brother :) <3 xoxoxo - Posted by: April Hanchar (Close friend / family ) on: Sep 16, 2012

  • Akin was a close friend to me always cheering me up and allways there for me. Was one of my only guy friends that could hang with me every day without further trying anything. He always made me laugh and made sure i got home safe from whereever i was. Since akin has been out of jail this previous time ive been with him almost every other day hanging out or partying and now with all that has happend it has opend my eyes that god took him too soon and that i should change my life for him and my self. It hurts everyday to think i cant call him and hear his beautiful voice or see him roll up to my work to pick me up bumping his favorite tunes. or when we would just ride around in his car having deep thoughts on life this and that. Akin was a dear friend and now not seeing him everyday will slowly be breaking my heart even more. My love and prayers go out to him and his family. And i hope to get a sign from him one day to know that hes okay and in a better place. i love you akin with all my heart i wish i was able to tell you more and save your life. xo kelsey your baby girl - Posted by: kelsey king (close friend.) on: Sep 16, 2012

  • I met you in grade 8. However we didn't become best friends until High School. I was brand new to Oak Park in grade 12 and you were the only person I knew. He introduced me to all your friends and made me feel welcome. I still remember the day I decided you were my best friend, I was upset and needed a friend and there you were there in a second. Many times again in my life when I needed you, you were always there. And when you were In Montreal you couldn't physically be there but you called me every single day you were gone. Every time I saw you your face would light up and you'd give me the biggest hug. You called me Jewels Santana, like the rapper, I'll admit it was not my favourite at first. But after a couple months of you not giving it up, I got over it and I owned it. Over this last year we grew apart and I am so saddened by this but I remember the last time I saw you. I was on my way home from school and I stopped at mcdonalds on the way home and when I was walking towards the bus stop I heard you laugh and say "jewels santana." I only talked to you for a moment as my bus was there. if I could go back I wouldve thrown my food and drinks to the ground and given you the biggest hug I've ever given u. I hope you are at peace. I love you and miss you. And I will be praying for your family every day. - Posted by: Julie (one of my best friends) on: Sep 15, 2012
