Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATILDA (TILLIE) GEISLER Peacefully at her residence, Matilda (Tillie) Geisler passed away on September 11, 2012. She was born in Ashern, MB on December 4, 1914 to John and Julia Henkel. Matilda is survived by her son Ronald (Joan) Geisler and daughter Barbara Barnes (special friend Neil). She is also survived by her grandchildren Debbie (Brad), Deanne (Harry), Denise (Kevin), Randy (Rylee's Mom, Doris), Susie (Vince), Sean (Kristine) and Shannon (Spencer); great-grandchildren Dawson, Brooke, Jenna, Megan, Abbie, Sasha, Rylee, Tyler, Caitlin, Sydney, Mitchell and Kendall; sisters Elsie, Christina, Hilda and Esther; brothers Herman and Robert; sisters-in-law Hertha Arnason and Nettie Geisler. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Geisler, son-in-law Edward Barnes and eleven of her siblings. Matilda worked for many years at the Ashern Post Office. She was a great cook, made delicious bread and was famous among family and friends for her vinartarta, graham wafer cake, perogies, date cake and banana muffins. Matilda loved her family dearly and enjoyed the visits from them. She always extended a warm welcome to visitors. She was a faithful lifetime member of the Ashern Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Friends and relatives may pay their respects at a viewing to be held between 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Ashern Centennial Hall with Dwight Sander officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow in the Ashern Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Geisler, Sean Barnes, Susie Wilkinson, Debbie Geisler, Denise Foster and Deanne Geisler. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rawoof and staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital for their care of Mom. Special thanks to all the Home Care staff for their excellent treatment of Mom and her family. We are grateful for your kindness.
