WAYNE ROBERT SCHLAMB It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne following a lengthy illness on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Riverview Health Centre, with his wife at his side. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Colleen (Milne); children Kelly (Carmen), Tracy (Dean Owens) and Dale (Tracey); grandchildren Brooke, Holly, Audrey and Spencer; mother Lillian; mother-in-law Eileen Milne; brothers Larry (Helen), Randy (Eleanor); sisters Darlene Glover, Lynne Wilson (Bob) and Janette Welby (Rob); brother-in-law Robin Milne (Lynne); sisters-in-law Sherry Raffey (Rick), Carol Hart and Bonnie Scott (Dave); best buddy Bob Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Jacob and father-in-law Colin Milne. Wayne was born in Gladstone, Manitoba on August 12, 1943. At 18 he came to Winnipeg and made his home here but always enjoyed going back to visit his home town. He met his future wife Colleen in 1967 and they were married on October 2, 1970. They raised three great kids and enjoyed life to the fullest. His four grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he enjoyed getting together with the family. Wayne retired from Perimeter Lumber where he was a Foreman. Wayne and Colleen enjoyed travelling to many places in Canada, USA and the Caribbean. His favourite places were Toronto, to visit Kelly, Carmen and the girls and also Las Vegas. He looked forward to going to the Shooting Star Casino, South Beach Casino and he also loved to golf. He was always there to lend a helping hand and to build anything from a fence to a garage. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, September 20 at Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave., Winnipeg at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Janet Walker officiating. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in Gladstone Cemetery. The family would like to thank Palliative Home Care Team for all their love and support and also to Riverview Palliative Care for his last few days in their care. If desired, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9. Because of you our own small world Will never be the same, And all our hearts are filled with love When people speak your name.
