Kenneth Budd was my uncle and I have many memories of this great man. He served his country bravely during the Korea conflict and returned to Canada to build an amazing life. I remember the time my father, Ken's brother, and I spent a weekend out at his place back in 76. I remember going to his barbershop, Cec Richards and getting a haircut from him. He was a good hair stylist and barber. I also remember him visiting me in the Victoria Hospital when I was in there back in 86. Ken was predeceased by his father Leonard, his wife Francis, his brother, and my father Oliver, brother Wilfred, brother Archie, and a young brother who passed at a very young age, and sister Jane. Ken was born at Warren's Landing and lived there until enlisting in the army and going to Korea. RIP, Ken. You were a remarkable man and someone I admired greatly. - Posted by: Calvin Budd (Nephew) on: Feb 28, 2025

I was unaware that Ken had passed until today May 24, 2013. i was a customer of Ken's at Cec Richards Barber Shop on Pembina Highway for several years until he left the business due to health reasons. Over the years i had developed a great deal of respect for Ken, not only as one of his customers, but also as a friend. We shared many conversations over the many years I went there to get my hair cut. ken shared with me many times his love of family and shared with me some of his war experiences in Korea. i also admired Ken's skill in carving birds and purchased some of his works...they remain some of my prize possessions. Today as i was at an estate sale I noticed a blue jay was available for sale. i was really surprised to see the name of the artist was Ken Budd....it came home with me. Afterwards i was saddened to see his obituary after searching on line. My condolences go out to Ken's family over the loss of a great man. I was fortunate to have crossed paths with him in my life. I am sorry that i did not know of his passing as I would have appreciated to pay my respects at his funeral. Rest in peace Ken - Posted by: Ken Park (Friend /Customer) on: May 24, 2013
