Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIVIAN RUTH GERVAIS (nee ROBERTS) After an 11 week battle with metastatic breast cancer Vivian Gervais passed away on September 16, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89 years. She leaves behind four sons Richard (Cathy), David, Robert (Barb) and Dennis, grandchildren Neil, Brina, Matthew and Nicholas, numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces. Vivian is also survived by her brother Lloyd (Cecile) Roberts, and by Wayne Roberts. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, parents John and Mildred Roberts and siblings Mildred, Helen, Lorne, John, Grace, Hilda and Wray. Vivian was born in Greenway, Manitoba on the family farm on September 11, 1923. She worked at Eaton's Bake Shop for close to 40 years and retired in 1988. Mother always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a terrific cook and her family lacked for little. Vivian loved watching curling (Hurry Hard!) and baseball (Go Jays!). Mother had a very hard time with her mobility over the past 10 years however she always seemed to manage the difficulties and never complained. Her mind and memory were sharp right to the end. We were truly blessed to have a mother, grandmother like Vivian. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and health care aides at St. Boniface Hospital 6A South for the care given to Vivian over the past two months. In keeping with Vivian's wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Our sympathy to the family. Last time we saw your Mom was at your Dad's funeral. Surely these last two years have not been easy for her. She is now free from all pain and reunited with your Dad.
