ROBERT CHARLES BUCK Unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, Robert (Bob) Buck, age 71, passed away at his apartment in Parkview Manor, Selkirk, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, the Rev. James M. Buck in 1990, and Betty Buck in July of this year. Robert will be sadly missed by his five siblings, Ken (Penny), Richard (Bruce), Joanne (Aden), Paul (Lorie) and David (Melissa) and by 11 nieces and nephews. He was born October 27, 1940, at Kamsack, SK, to the Rev. James M. and Elizabeth Buck. He previously worked as a hired man in the farming communities of Haywood and St. Claude. When he retired to Selkirk, Robert enjoyed living on his own at Parkview Manor. He took part in bowling and often could be seen riding his three-wheeler around Selkirk. He played his country music for his lady friends and knew all the best spots for a meal in town. He called bingo at the apartment and was proud of this responsibility and also of his tulip bed in the rear of the apartment. He was a faithful member of Christ Church (Anglican). Robert was loyal, generous, funny, outspoken and opinionated, but you always knew where you stood with him. His family would say that Bob says what other people are thinking. He was the sidewalk supervisor of the recent exterior renovations to Parkview Manor where he lived. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church (Anglican), 227 McLean Ave., Selkirk with the Rev. Brad Elliot presiding. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Rolande and Louis Sibilleau of St. Claude, MB, for their years of caring for Robert and to Lori Cork and his present care giver, Cheryl Sinclair, which allowed him to live safely and independently .
