HJORDIS LUDKIEWICZ (nee VAAGEN) It is with sadness that the children of Hjordis announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, September 25 at the age of 97. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Inger Schnerch (Dave), Allan Ludkiewicz (Laurie) and Liv Furgale (James) and her grandchildren David (Melanie), Alan (Erin), Britt, Kate, Mary and Matthew. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley and her sisters, Ingfrid Madsen and Signe Fines. She is survived by her brother, Arvid Vaagen (Margit) in Norway. Hjordis was born in Verran, Norway to Ole and Anna Kristine Vaagen on November 9, 1914. She married Stanley, the love of her life and lived in Oslo for a few years and then came to Canada. Hjordis was employed at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology, as a Lab Technician until her retirement. Her life was dedicated to her family, grandchildren and friends and she enjoyed time spent with them. Her love, care and dedication will be cherished. Special thanks to the Staff at the The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre for your loving care and support for Hjordis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue on Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. with Celebrant, Fr Sam Argenziano and Concelebrants, Fr Alan Fogarty SJ and Fr Michel Boutilier SJ.
