Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE WAGER (nee HAINES) After a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family, Katherine passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the age of 52 years. Katherine is lovingly remembered by her parents Brian and Elinor, her sister Susan, brothers Ken (Joy) and Thomas, nieces and nephews Elizabeth (Kevin, Jackson, Logan, Leah), Brian, Kenneth, Steven (Kristi), Laura and Emily and her beloved Rockford. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband John in 2001. The family wishes to thank the palliative care unit of the St. Boniface Hospital, for their care and compassion. So sorry to hear about Katherine's passing. I first met "Kathy" when I was 14 working as an office boy at the Free Press, she was 16. We shared many conversations and we soon became friends. I too was very saddened to learn of Katherine's passing. I met Katherine in the late 70's when I started at the Free Press. Condolences to the family for your loss. Katherine and I worked together at the Free Press since the mid-70's - we both started at a young age, and basically grew up (and got into trouble) together. I watched Katherine and John fall in love, get married, be happy, be sad, and be back together. I have been friends with Katherine since our Free Press in the 70's, She was one of my best friends, I hadn't seen her much in the last while but talked on the the phone frequently, was having trouble contacting her and found out only today that she had passed away. I wish I would have known how sick she was and definitely would have been there for her. I am so sorry Katherine that I wasn't there for you, will miss you so much.
