  • I was deeply saddened to day to learn of Niki's passing. Niki and I spent alot of time together in our teens and I always had wondered what had become of her. I will always remember that she approached life with passion and loved the excitement of a new adventure. Her smile lit up the room. My heart goes out to her family and close friends. - Posted by: Mark Pusey (friend) on: Mar 27, 2013

  • Niki, I was saddened to hear of your passing the other day while reviewing our "high school reunion" web page. I have fond memories, b-day parties etc and walks home from school. I remembered when you moved to Australia and then returned, finding the irony that I currently reside in Perth Australia. I am deeply saddened to hear of your passing. Years passed but memories remain. You will be forever in my heart and prayers. Sympathy to your son, family, and friends. You will be missed at our "Class of 88" 25 year high school reunion. • This evening, I read with sadness and fondness that my childhood friend had passed away suddenly. While our paths had not crossed for many years, the role that Niki played as a friend has remained important to me, even twenty years later. I met Niki on my first day of Grade 6 after spending most of my childhood overseas. It was not easy adjusting back to Canada but it was made much easier because of Niki's immediate friendship. We spent many days bike riding, walking around King's Park, climbing trees and playing too many Intellivision games. Niki's sense of adventure and curiosity about the world was a rare thing in the suburbs of Fort Richmond. Niki was propelled to try new things, think differently about the world and most importantly to create - whether it was in the kitchen or sketching in art class. I still think that some of the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten were made by Niki during our lunch breaks from high school. I remember Niki being extremely proud of all of her family, their accomplishments and strengths and it is not by chance that she too was a caring and generous person. Niki, thank-you for being an important and memorable part of my life. Rest in peace friend, Liz - Posted by: Elizabeth Matheson (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2012
