ANTONINO (TONY) PROVINCIANO February 10, 1927 October 19, 2012 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Tony Provinciano, at the age of 85, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Tony is survived by his wife and beloved soul mate Dolores (Dolly); daughters Gail (Frank) and Barbie; grandchildren Dawn, Chloe (Ultra), Matthew, Stephanie (Travis), Kevin (Chantelle) and his 10 great-grandchildren. Tony also leaves to mourn his sister Angeline, brother Moe (Nell) and sister-in-law Anna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his parents Camilla and Frank, sister Minnie, brother Rocky and son-in-law Gord. Tony was born February 10, 1927. At the young age of 15 he ventured to British Columbia to work for the railway. From this point on he had a passion for travelling and exploring the world. He and Dolly discovered their little piece of paradise in Mazatlan, wintering there for 32 years. Tony lived on Rosemount Avenue in Fort Garry for 84 years moving from his parent's home to the home he built for his own family. Tony had a strong work ethic, which he passed on to many of his family and friends. After working for the railway he opened A M Auto Wrecking with his brother Moe. They owned this business for many years and when they sold it he moved on to work with his nephew David at Pro Body Parts. During this time his friend Bill inspired him to take up the hobby of building men out of tin cans and bottle caps which is when his nickname Tony-the- Tin-man was born. Tony continued working until he began dialysis at the age of 80. Tony was strong willed and had a fiery personality. He was straightforward and honest which sometimes got him into trouble but he was extremely generous and had a heart of gold as well. Tony loved his family dearly and would do anything for us such as taking us on many vacations where we could all be together. Our family would like to thank Dr. Dissanyake for her excellent care over the years, our friends and family who helped us to transport our dad to and from dialysis (with those special White Spot stops) and Nympha who helped our dad during his last few weeks. A special thank you to Dr. Sean Armstrong and the dialysis team for their loving care during his treatments. We would also like to thank all the staff on 4-10 and 12 at Seven Oaks Hospital; you have all been angels in his care. Thank you for allowing us to set up our home for our family and friends. Our family would like you to join us in the celebration of his life, which will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Reception to follow at Caboto Centre, 1055 Wilkes Avenue. In lieu of flowers, friends who desire can donate to The Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 26331 STN Brm B, Toronto, ON M7Y 4R1, or the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, Manitoba Branch, #1-452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4. • Dolly, Gail, Barbie and family, Our sincere wishes go out to you at this difficult time. Tony or Uncle Tony as many of us called him, will be sadly missed. Everytime you saw him he had a warm smile and time for you. I remember him selling (giving) my dad my first car. A 63 Ford Comet. Over the years I was lucky to see him many times and he always asked about my family with great interest. He made you feel very special. He will be remembered by many in many different ways but I will remember his smile the most. Vic Hiebert - Posted by: Vic Hiebert (Family friend) on: Oct 23, 2012
