VALERIE GENEVIEVE HELEN KOLYNCHUK It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Valerie Kolynchuk on October 19, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. A loving mother, sister, and daughter, she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Valerie is survived by her mother Helen Kolynchuk, her brother Henry Kolynchuk (Connie) of Selkirk, MB, her children Bradley Grieve of Montreal, PQ, and Janessa Grieve (Carlos Torres) of Guadalajara, numerous nieces and nephews, her devoted partner Mark Ewonchuk, his children Stephanie (Chris), Rees (Andrea) and their daughter Tessa, Val's little ray of sunshine. Valerie was predeceased by her father John Kolynchuk, and Joel Maslovsky who had a special place in her heart. An amazing woman, Valerie personified the beautiful, loving spirit in life that she enlightened unto everyone around her. Forever young at heart, Valerie lived life with a warm smile, a playful, kind soul, and tremendous love in her heart. A loving mother, Valerie couldn't be more proud of her children Bradley and Janessa. Valerie was always concerned about the wellbeing of others no matter how she felt. She was always concerned about how her loved ones were feeling; she tried to make everyone around her feel better. Valerie always kept her sense of humor and that helped her deal with a disease that she battled right to the very end; She was a real trooper. Valerie looked forward to and very much enjoyed her weekend outings with Mark to the farm at Fisher Branch. Valerie's spark for creativity was exuded in her work as a florist, her vivid colours splashed about her condo, and all the handwork she enjoyed creating. Valerie also had a special affinity for her beloved dog, Beemer. In 2005, she amazed us all by returning to school and becoming a successful pharmacy technician. The family would express appreciation to all her care givers, especially Pam, Dawn, Norma, and Agnes. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room 0N1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
