EMILY ANNE TAITLEY
Date of Passing: Oct 20, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY ANNE TAITLEY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Anne Taitley nee Graves with her loving family at her side on October 20, 2012 at the age of 66. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Christina (Shawn), Linda, and Brian (Kim). Left to cherish the memory of their adored Grandma are her darling Grandsons Kai and Talan. Our Mom was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Maurice, and her dear parents John and Christina Graves. Anne was the second born of eight children. Left to mourn her passing are her siblings Sandy (Jackie), Shirley (John), Stan (Jo-Ann), Lorna (Nick), Dorothy (Brian), May (Gary) and Jim (Cheryl), as well as a large, loving group of nieces and nephews. Anne was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan, and grew up in the Yorkton area. She adopted the role of caregiver early in her life, and her career choice of registered nurse came as no surprise to those who knew her. Anne completed her nursing training in Edinburgh Scotland, and it was there that our father Maurice had the good fortune to meet the beautiful young woman who would become his lifelong wife and best friend. Our Mom was dear, kind, gentle and full of life. She was there for everyone with advice wise beyond her years and loving arms ready to hold and comfort. She was just as at home playing baseball or hide and seek with her grandsons as she was enjoying a late night chat with one of her many close friends who will miss her dearly. There is no end to the stories you will hear of our Mom. She had a great sense of humour and a deep capacity for compassion, making her a favourite amongst patients and coworkers at Victoria General Hospital, where she enjoyed a career spanning well over thirty years. Words alone cannot express the truly special woman that our Mother was. Those fortunate enough to have known her will have fond memories of her always. Our family would like to thank the dedicated team of doctors and nurses at CancerCare Health Sciences Centre, and the kind staff on Unit 2 at the Victoria General Hospital. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Blouw, a long time physician, colleague, and friend to our Mom. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 28 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg. Following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home and Cemetery. I had the good fortune of knowing Anne through my Mom Molly. My Mom worked with Anne at the Vic forever!! Anne became one of Moms very closest and dearest friends in her life. That in turn gave me the extreme pleasure of also getting to know and truly appreciate Anne. She was the best friend to Mom and always seemed to be there whenever we needed her! She will forever be in our thoughts and very best memories. Thank you....you will be sadly missed. Christina, Linda and Brian and families, please know that if there is anything you need just ask. - Posted by: Laurie Chownyk (Friend) on: Oct 26, 2012

To Christina, Linda, Brian & family, we send our deepest sorrow in the loss of your mother. Anne was a wonderful, funloving, loyal friend of many years.(30+) Although we haven't seen her in the past few years, we looked forward to seeing her when we came back to visit in Wpg., and it just won't seem the same without her. She is the first of our "gang" to go and will be sorely missed. We will be thinking of you all on Sunday. Anne and I became friends in high school in Yorkton. We lost contact for a while, but remained friends and rekindled our relationship a few years ago. I spoke to Anne many times after her surgery and she was so positive. I will really miss her. Love Mavis - Posted by: Mavis Prokopiuk (friend) on: Oct 25, 2012
