LADISLAV ZALUD It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Ladislav Zalud. In the early hours of October 21, 2012 we lost a husband and a father. Lada as he was also known is survived by his loving wife Dagmar, son Jan (Carla), son Jakub (Tracy) and grandchildren Michaela, Amanda, Marta, Sydney and Noah. Lada was born in Kladno, Czech Republic on February 7, 1950. In 1986 he brought his family to Canada and made Winnipeg his new home. He loved nature and would spend every moment picking mushrooms if he could. He worked as a finishing carpenter and took pride in quality and attention to detail. Customers would wait for weeks and sometimes even longer just to have him work on their projects. Lada spent his life helping others and rarely took time to rest. After all the years in Canada, his heart was always back in the Czech Republic and for that reason, his family will be taking his urn back to Kladno, Czech Republic where he was born. We would like to thank Dr. Wong and all the staff at HSC's CCU for everything. In honour of our father's wishes, a private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lada's memory to the Liver Foundation of Manitoba.
