RICHARD WALTER BRYLL
Born: Mar 29, 1936
Date of Passing: Oct 22, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD WALTER BRYLL March 29, 1936- October 22, 2012 On October 22, at Selkirk General Hospital, after a long courageous battle, Dick passed away peacefully with family at his bedside. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Walter Bryll. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 55 years Lynn; his daughter Karen (Henry); his son Scott (Kelly) and his grandchildren Carter and Kaden. He also leaves to mourn his brother Vic (Marlene); his niece Rhonda; nephew Tom; brother-in-law and friend Dennis; his wife's siblings and their families. Dick's working life took him through jobs with T.D. Bank, Manitoba Rolling Mills, Manitoba Hydro, City of Winnipeg and Investors Group. In his earlier years his interest included canoeing, cross country skiing, boating and scuba diving. He also enjoyed working with the Highland Gathering, the Cub and Scout movement, singing in the church choir and working on church council. Travel was all important including annual vacations in Mazatlan. The 25 years he spent living in the country on McIvor Lane were perhaps his happiest. It was there he pursued photography, walking the dogs, feeding the birds and enjoying nature all around him. Physical limitations prompted the move to Mapleton Lane where he spent the last two years of his life. He still took great pleasure in travel and his yearly family vacations in Mazatlan. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Concordia Hospital and Selkirk General Hospital for the care Dick received. Special thanks to the two evening nurses (angels) who helped him leave this life peacefully. In lieu of flowers, friends if desired can donate to Nature Conservancy Canada, Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church or charity of their choice. A celebration of Dick's life will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, 329 Clandeboye Ave. (Behind Safeway) Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
