MARY ISABEL DEANS (MENZIES) November 20, 1921 October 25, 2012 It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Isabel Deans at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg. Isabel was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Bessie Menzies, and her brother, Jack Menzies. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 66 years, Keith; her children: Doug (Lorrie) Deans, of Dauphin; Marilyn (Ron) Lamoureux, of Winnipeg; and her beloved grandchildren: Heather Deans, of Dauphin, Greg Deans, of Vancouver, and Lise Lamoureux, of Winnipeg. Also surviving are her sister, Merle (John) Marowitch, of Winnipeg; her brother, Jim Menzies, of Morden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was born and raised in Morden. She met Keith in high school and while he served with the RCAF during the Second World War she attended United College. Upon his repatriation they were married on July 19, 1946. Keith's job took them to Dauphin in 1950. The intention was to commit to a 2-year stay, but they made such good friends and enjoyed the town that it became their permanent home. Upon Keith's retirement, they spent 23 winters in Mesa, with summers at the cottage at Dauphin Lake. Ten years ago they made a move to Winnipeg; first to Fort Garry Place and then to Dakota House where they made new friends too numerous to mention. Family is grateful for the support Isabel and Keith received from these friends and the staff at Dakota House during her last year. A private family funeral will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the Home Care and Palliative Care programs, especially the nurses and aides who treated Isabel with dignity and respect; and lastly the staff at Riverview 3E. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation in Isabel's memory to: CancerCare Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg MB, R3C 9Z9; CNIB, PO Box 8000 Station Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9; or a charity of your choice.
