Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACOB P. FRIESEN 1946 - 2012 Peacefully on November 9, 2012, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Jake P. Friesen aged 66 years of Blumenfeld, MB went to his eternal home. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Margaret (nee Suderman), nine children: Jake and Betsy Friesen of Blumenfeld (Stephanie, Ryan, Breanne and Brendan); Darlene and Peter Fehr of Chortitz (Erin, Nicole and Kaylee); Lori and Darrel Penner of Winkler (Levi); Lavonne and Bob Peters of Blumenfeld (Amy, Kaitlyn and Kyle); Steve and Melissa Friesen of Blumenfeld (Brooklyn and Taylor); Lynda and Chad Pauls of Reinfeld (Reid and Beth); Abe Friesen of Yellowknife, NWT; John Friesen of Didsbury, AB, and Kris and Linda Friesen of Winkler. He is also survived by five sisters, five brothers and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Abram S. and Maria Friesen and one brother, Dave Friesen. Dad was born at home in the RM of Stanley on April 15, 1946 to Rev. Abram and Maria Friesen, the fourth of 12 children. He was baptized on June 9, 1966 and became a member of the Sommerfeld Church. On September 24, 1967, he married Margaret Suderman. Jake was a farmer at heart and remained involved in his family farm until this last harvest. In the late 1980s, he purchased LoadLine Mfg. and became known to many people as LoadLine Jake. His love and passion was his family and especially his grandchildren. After his cancer diagnosis in May, his strong determination and will to remain on this earth with his family and especially his grandchildren became even more apparent. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his next two grandchildren in December and January. Dad and Mom taught us the importance of faith in God. He demonstrated his faith by his generosity and caring to every person he met, wherever he was. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (today), November 13, 2012 at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church 189 2nd St. in Winkler with Bishop Dave Wiebe officiating. Interment to follow at the Waldheim Cemetery. Our family would like to extend a very special thank-you to all the staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for the wonderful care they provided our dad. In particular we would like to thank Dr. Reyneke, Dr. Jacob, Dr. Menzies and Dr. Woelk. Thank-you also to Bishop Dave Wiebe and Kiley Wilson of Wiebe Funeral Home for their support. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Jake's memory to Canadian Shelter of Hope (please designate the checks to CASA Conner Building). I was deeply saddened by the news of Jake's passing, he was a man of honour who never failed to keep his word and that is a rarity in today's business world. While the majority of my interaction with Jake was over the phone I always enjoyed our conversations and it was clear to see his love of his farm community and family. Jake was a trailblazer with a desire to pursue new opportunities and an adventurous spirit. May he rest peacefully knowing he has built a legacy! - Posted by: Garry Meron (Business associate and friend) on: Nov 15, 2012
