Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL BERNARD WALMSLEY November 12, 1935 - November 11, 2012 It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Paul Walmsley on Sunday, November 11, 2012. Paul was born in Llandudno, North Wales, son to the late Bernard and Marjorie Walmsley. At the sprite age of 21 Paul sailed across the Atlantic to start a new life in Canada arriving in Winnipeg in 1956. He married Patricia in 1971, and enjoyed 42 years of marriage to his loving wife. Paul is survived by his wife Pat and two children; daughter Diana (Clint) Mager and son David (Colleen) Walmsley. Paul also had two wonderful grandchildren Sydney and Tyler. He will be fondly remembered by sister Diana (Brian) Jacklin and the many nieces and nephews living in England. Paul worked as a taxi driver and a collection agent, before starting his career with the Federal Government in Manpower and Immigration. He worked his way up the employment ladder from Clerk to Manager over 27 years, retiring in 1990. Family was a great source of pride for Paul. He enjoyed many Canadian road trips and world travels over the years. He took considerable delight in showing his own children and most recently his grandchildren his Welsh birth pace and enjoyed spending time at the seaside with them as he himself did as a small child. Paul was blessed with many wonderful friendships rich with happy memories of social gatherings and shared holidays. He was an avid reader of history and geography, and a self-declared connoisseur of wine, chocolate and cheese. He loved a good political debate, and with little encouragement would stand on his soap box for all to hear. He also enjoyed beating his friends at Scrabble, pondering over cryptic crosswords and listening to Jazz music. A Memorial Service to celebrate Paul's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made to The Compassionate Friends, 685 William Avenue R3E 0Z2. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

In conversations and discussions Diana always spoke so highly of her parents. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of her dad. I know he will be greatly missed by Diana, Clint and the kids. A loss like this is never easy. The family chain is broken, and nothing will seem the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Nancy White (Work associate with Diana) on: Nov 14, 2012
