RUTH BERNICE MCLEAN January 17,1924 - November 10, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth McLean announce her passing in Calgary on November 10, 2012 from the debilitating consequences of Alzheimer's Disease. Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Unsure what made me check our dear old neighbour's name but I just did & am so sorry for this news. Anyone growing up on Lennox Avenue would know the McLeans. We all held a deep respect for Mrs McLean's hard work & fine example she set for all. Always shared her ample garden with my family. Distant memories but not forotten. Marie. - Posted by: Marie Elseth (nee Cordingley) (Neighbour-Lennox Avenue) on: Dec 13, 2012

  • We appreciate your kind and thoughtful comments. My Mother truly wanted to make a difference for all her students and it appears as though she has done that for those who have written. She was a remarkable woman and wonderful mother. Thankyou for taking the time to convey these messages. Donna - Posted by: donna (daughter) on: Nov 27, 2012

  • Very lucky to have Mrs. Mclean as a teacher when I attended Beliveau. A repected teacher who left a lasting impression. - Posted by: Darren (former student) on: Nov 19, 2012

  • I first met Ruth at Beliveau school when I worked there in the office. Little did I know that we would connect when we both retired and play duplicate bridge together for at least 5 years. Besides loving to play bridge together, I really became very fond of her. We had a lot of laughs together. I'm sorry that I didn't make it to the Fairmont today, but was looking after my 4 year old Grandson. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I feel privileged to have had Ruth as my friend. - Posted by: Arlene Prusak (Friend & duplicate bridge partner) on: Nov 16, 2012

  • Sympathy to family. Shared many hours of talking over the backyard picket fence. She was really missed when she moved to Alberta. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Elma Dueck (Former neigbor in Winnipeg) on: Nov 16, 2012

  • Sincere sympathy to all the family in your loss. I was one of her students when she taught at Sperling in the 1940s. I was fortunate to have such a great teacher for Grades 6, 7 and 8. She was always kind and caring. I never forgot her. - Posted by: Margaret Dracass - former student () on: Nov 14, 2012

  • Sometimes we forget as life goes by, the educators that served us well. Mrs. McLean was one of those teachers who was firm yet caring. She held a full class which was not easy at times, yet her manner was always with grace. - Posted by: Laurie GydĂ© (FORMER STUDENT) on: Nov 14, 2012
