Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLAIRE ANDRE (nee POITRAS) It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Claire, on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph André, and her daughter Pauline André. To pass on her charm and recipes she leaves behind her sons, Maurice "Jake" (Brenda), Louis (Amber), Gilbert, Gerald, Claude and her daughter/granddaughter Jerilyn (Robert) Hall, grandchildren Damien, Danielle (Errol), Mathieu (Daphne), Desirée, Alain and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel, brothers Paul (Lucy), Gerry (Hilda) and sister Simone Lavoie. Claire was born on May 26, 1925 in Fannystelle, MB. She then moved to St. Boniface, married Joseph in 1948, where she raised their six children, and cared for many others who thought of her like a second mother. At the age of 61, Claire then started all over again and raised her granddaughter Jerilyn. Claire died at the age of 87 years, although she would have told you she was only 49. Claire will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street, on Thursday, November 29, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Drive, Kanata, ON K2M 2W1. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm sorry that I just came upon this announcement today. When I was a teenager, we all used to gather at the Andre's home. Mr. and Mrs. Andre would always welcome us even though we were sometimes loud and I'm certain, challenging. Generally we would gather in the basement but there were times when we would have a party upstairs with Mr. and Mrs. Andre. We'd play old music and dance and sing to it. Memere. we will miss the time special spent with you. We miss the special snack times with you. Memere, you were always ready to feed us, especially your homegrown cucumbers and tomatoes. Memere, I miss your hugs! I miss making puzzles with you. You always had special littles gifts for me when I would come and visit. You would play and did things with me, like letting me pick vegetables from your garden. You will be missed, but will always be in our thougts and hearts foreever. Our sincere sympathy goes out to the whole family. Unfortunely we were out of the country for a week, therefore didn't know that had happened. To Jake and all the guys. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Your Mom was always kind to me and made me feel that I was welcome in your home no matter what the hour. She was very kind to my Mom. My sincere sympathy to the Andre Family. Claire was always special to me when I was growing up with Pauline. She made the best beef stew around. She had more patience than anyone I know.
