Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN DILAY Helen Dilay, age 98 years, of Dauphin, MB, passed away peacefully at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa, Winnipeg, on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Helen was born on July 2, 1914 in Garland, MB to Kost and Nellie Magis. She received her education in Garland and upon leaving school helped her parents on the farm. In 1938, Helen left Garland and took up residence in The Pas. She worked in The Pas where she met John Dilay. They married on October 5, 1940, and in time, together they raised their family of three sons. In 1975, Helen and John moved to Dauphin where she resided until January 2011. She then moved to Extendicare Tuxedo Villa in Winnipeg. Helen was predeceased by her husband John, her parents and two sisters. Helen lived her long life to the fullest. She loved being busy doing the things she enjoyed most such as knitting, crocheting and especially cooking. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her sons Don (Susan) of Winnipeg, Wilf of Brandon, and Gary of Calgary, her grandchildren Lorrisa, Chris, Jerrold, Lisa, Leanne, and Dustin; she also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, four nieces, and one cousin. Prayers will be offered on Friday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel. Divine Liturgy and Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection, Dauphin. Rev. Fr. Oleg Bodnarski will officiate with the interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Dilay, Jerrold Dilay, Dustin Dilay, Brad Middleton, Jason Glutek, and Brent Kyle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Helen to a charity of one's choice. We would like to thank the staff of Station 3 Tuxedo Villa for the exceptional care they provided for Mom during her 22 month stay. Special thanks to Louise whose attention to our mother's needs will be remembered with gratitude. There will always be a heartache And often a silent tear. But always precious memories Of the days when you were here. We hold you close within our hearts And there you will remain, To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again.
