  • We have known Carla and her family for 16 years as neighbours. Our children played together as they grew up, her youngest and our middle are best friends. Carla was always baking the best cookies ever, our youngest would always ask her "Carla, do you have any cookies?" and if she didn't she would bake some. Carla was a good person and great mom, she had alot of compassion, generosity and kindness in her which I see in her children (as well as her laugh.) It is a tremendous loss, our hearts and thoughts go out to you Charles, Jody, Anthony, Alex and Jacob. Thinking of you all! - Posted by: Bailer Family (Neighbours) on: Dec 06, 2012

  • When we get closer to death, we have a tendency to remember our childhood faith and our childhood prayers. I still know mine by heart as these words were learned so early and easily. Or you may have found a new faith as we have. A deeper belief with different words, different prayers, new words of consolation, of hope, of redemption leaving you with a sense of peace and ease. What matters not is what religion brings forth these words of solace. What matters is that prayers for the dying bring us comfort in times of need. That they bring us solace at the end of life. That they lift up our spirits even in dire circumstances. That they soothe our spirits, calm our hearts and show us the way home....dear Carla ♥ I can only pray that you understand how you have truly touched my heart in your all too short of time here xxoo you have taught me about what kind of woman to be and what kind of woman I never knew I was. I will be forever thankful to the creator for including me in your path <3 - Posted by: Lacie Hall (RRC friend) on: Dec 05, 2012

  • To the Yerlitz Family A letter from Heaven, When tommorrow starts without me, and I'm not here to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today, While thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, And each time you think of me, I know you will miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we are far apart, for everytime you think of me, I'm right there in you HEART. - Posted by: Thadia (friend of the family) on: Dec 04, 2012

  • On behalf of Urban Circle Elders Stella and Audrey, Staff and students we send our condolences to Carla's family. We had the pleasure of getting to know her beautiful and gentle ways that she walked on this earth. Family was very important to her and she was very proud of her children. Carla had a wonderful sense of humor and could quickly put people at ease. Being in and graduating from the Health Care Aide /Health Unit Clerk program at Urban Circle was a perfect fit for her personality. We were proud to hear that she would move on to pursue her Nursing career. May Creator wrap his arms around Carla's family and walk with them during this difficult time. • My condolences to the family and friends of Carla she was truly an amazing woman. I met Carla at RRC and she was so so special, I knew that the first day of classes. I became friends with her and another girl, and I seen so much in Carla she was very bright and always happy. Carla's laugh could Brighten anyone's day, especially mine. I always asked her so many questions about her hair, like how much cream rinse do you use, how long does it take to brush. She had the most beautiful hair. One day we were at her locker and she was bent down her hair in a braid lay on the floor, someone stepped on it..we kind of laughed and after that I seen her with a bun. Carla also talked about her children often some stories funny some serious. She loved them dearly and will continue to love them. This is a tremendous loss. Carla touched so many lives, I pray that her family gets the strength they need to get through this time and am thinking of you all. - Posted by: Jackie (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2012
