  • Brian was a wonderful person. We grew up together as teens. He was always kind, thoughtful, respectful and a true gentleman. It was a privilege to know him. My sincere condolences to the family. Treasure all the warm and fond memories. - Posted by: Marie Popoff and Nell Solnik (the Skrumeda 'girls') (Teen-age friends) on: Dec 13, 2012

  • Dale, Sandy, Tanis and family I extend my sincerest sympathy to you on the loss of your father. I have memories of a very proud father on graduation days. Keep his memory in your hearts and he will be with you forever. - Posted by: Dorothy Altstadt (School Secreatry) on: Dec 08, 2012

  • My Deepest Sympathies to Brian's Wife and family. Memories come flooding back. Cub Scouts in your parents basement, with your Mom as one of our Leaders. Boy Scout camping trips with your Dad. Scrub football on your front lawn, and on the grass in front of Meeks Garage. From cap guns to BB guns, tricycles to bicycles, never worrying about what the future had in store for any of us. We grew up and life took us all down different paths. I will never forget those days when we were Pups with lots of Growing Up time ahead of us. - Posted by: Terry Viddal (Friend) on: Dec 06, 2012

  • I have had the pleasure of working with Brian for a short time. He was a fantastic supervisor, a lot of fun and an all around awesome guy. When he laughed, everyone laughed. He will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences go out to the Blanchfield family at this very difficult time. Jeff and family - Posted by: Jeff Zalitach (friend) on: Dec 06, 2012

  • I will miss you and the many memories that we had growing up together; curling in the high school bonspiels, our annual family summer holiday trips, our days in scouts, but most of all, your laughter, smile, thoughtfulness, and just being a wonderful human being. Rest in peace, Brian, may God Bless!! - Posted by: Ronald Buzahora (friend, ) on: Dec 06, 2012

It was a pleasure meeting Brian this summer at the lake and watching as he enjoyed the company of his wonderful family. - Posted by: Genevieve Brazzell and family (Auntie to daugther Tanis (Rick)) on: Dec 06, 2012

  • Dear Shirley, Sandy, Dale and Tanis and Family, Our hearts go out to you on this great loss! As children, we grew up knowing only 1 Brian, and that Brian never changed. He was always extremely fair, kind and funny. Every morning, for thirty years, his great laugh would echo through our house as he picked up his mail and shared a few jokes with our Mom. He had the ability to brighten up the darkest day. If our Mom was here today, she would agree. Your dad was great! We will all miss him. - Posted by: Candice, Shelly, Tony and Chad Bargenda (Friends) on: Dec 05, 2012

  • Shirley, Sandy, Dale & Tanis and kin. I am so sad for you all. Shocked and bewildered to say the least. Last time I saw Brian was a few years ago at Shoppers when I worked there. He said: excuse me? Is this all you have for chocolates? And as he was finishing asking me... He looked at me and said: well I'll be.. ! I replied: it is so nice to see you; it's been a long time since I was back to the 'Old Country'! And he gave me a big hug! We exchanged a bit of chit chat-how's Shirley..the kids..you know. I cannot believe how heart breaking this is. But I feel blessed that I did get to see him then. Please know Shirl, that I have you & your family in my prayers..for strength and condolence . Take care Love: Danielle - Posted by: Danielle Giesbrecht (Friend ) on: Dec 05, 2012

  • I am sorry to learn of your father's passing. My thoughts are with you and your family. - Posted by: Tanya Henckel () on: Dec 04, 2012

  • Out of all of the friends I had in school, Brian was by far my favourite of the "dads". He was always so full of life - a smile that could light up a room. As well, one of the finest cooks of venison you could ask for. I was always made to feel welcome in the Blanchfield home and am so sad for the loss of one of the most incredible people I have known. Much love to the family. - Posted by: Sandra McGonigal (nee Honke) (friend of the family) on: Dec 04, 2012
