ANNETTE (NETTIE) DERKACH Annette passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Nettie was born in Winnipeg on January 1, 1927. She was employed by Eaton's for many years within the basement Foodateria offices. She loved the Holy Family Parish with all her heart. She volunteered with Spring and Fall teas, Ukrainian dancing, making perogies and many other social events. She was also a proud member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada. She loved and was very proud of her family, and could hardly wait for the next feast gathering. She enjoyed and looked forward to her bingo games at Earl Grey Community Centre, and a little gambling trip now and then at the Casino with Gina. Surviving are her daughters Lisa Bell (Scott), Cathy Roy (Dave), proud Baba to grandsons Brady and Jaime DeLuca. She also leaves behind her nephew Jim Stevenson (Carol), her sister Mary Gatz (Bob) and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anne Witrowich, and her beloved husband Bill after 58 years of marriage. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave., with Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Nettie's memory may be made to the Elevator Fund , Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 1Y3. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital for their excellent care and compassion over the years, and also to Cathie Ritchie for arranging Nettie's Homecare needs. Also, special thanks to Judith who provided Nettie with the homecare she needed, and became a special friend. This lady is now reunited with her gentleman in heaven.
