FRANCIS JEAN CROMARTY February 11, 1932 - December 7, 2012 After a lengthy stay in the hospital with her family by her side, our precious mother left us peacefully for eternal rest. To forever cherish her memory, she leaves daughters Chris (Jim) Evans, Linda (Brian) Taylor, Cathy (Tex) Monkman, Diane Cromarty, and Sue (Jack) Bakker; sons Tim and Andy (Selena); grandchildren Shannon and Allyson, Trevor and Tracy, Dave, Melissa, Theresa and Billy, Bobby and Timmy; 12 great-grand-children; brother Oakley (Karen); sisters-in-law Dairdrie (Charlie) Frost, Marlene Cooke, as well as many nieces and nephews; her constant and caring companion Clare Letendre; good friend Betty Lee and many others. She was predeceased by Gerald, her husband of 55 years in 2005; parents Henry and Clara Gillespie; twin brothers Bob and Bill; sister Ellen McKenzie and granddaughter Angela Cromarty in July 2012. Mom worked at the Selkirk Mental Hospital until retiring in 1987. She was a longtime member of St. Clements Church and volunteered at Selkirk General Hospital. Mom loved to be surrounded by family and was her happiest when she held babies in her arms. She loved attending her family sporting events, Christmas concerts, Dance recitals, Graduations and Weddings. She looked forward to kicking up her heels at old time dances with Clare. Also never missing a Blue Jays game on TV. Our family would like to thank the Concordia Hospital Staff, especially Debra Johnson for her compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Clements Church in Selkirk, Manitoba on Monday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. with The Ven. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or CancerCare Manitoba, or the charity of your choosing. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • When I think of my Auntie Jean, I think of a kind, compassionate and loving person. She always made me feel special! Her quiet strength and peacefulness are some of the examples of how she led her life. It is this inspiration that will follow me through mine.
