REINHARD GEORG SCHEDLER February 24, 1923 December 10, 2012 Peacefully on December 10, 2012, Georg Schedler aged 89 years of Moosehorn, MB passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. He leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Gertrude Schedler and his extended family of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as some very special friends. Georg is predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law William and Lydia, Albert, Gustav, Edwin and Clara, Henry and Irene and second wife Gertie; nephew Barry Schedler, nieces Marie Toews and Mabel, in infancy. He was the youngest of six sons born to Ferdinand and Eva Schedler. Georg was born on the Schedler homestead and attended the Kissman School. He was baptised and confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB. Georg lived the majority of his life on the Schedler homestead until the summer of 2009 when he decided to move to the Moosehorn Manor. While on the farm, he kept active, always pitching in to help with whatever chores needed doing but his favourite time was haying. He loved to take out his little Farmall tractor and mow hay. When he did have free time, he enjoyed wood working in his work shop and making keepsakes on his lathe for family and friends. His greatest love in life was his music. He played the accordion for countless dances, weddings and house parties. In later years he played for the joy of playing and to entertain his family, his neighbours in the Manor and on a few occasions those in the Personal Care Home. Georg volunteered to play at the fund raising talent shows and will be long remembered for his rendition of Old McDonald's Farm'. Our family would like to thank Georg's Home Care workers, Dr. Faltas and all the nurses for the care they gave him during the last years of his life. Also a thank you to John Gray and staff for their compassion during this time. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Ashern Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with an interment to follow at a later date in the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Moosehorn, MB. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers that day for Georg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. • Ruth, Bill, Don, Susan and families, Our deepest symapathy on the loss of your beloved uncle and great uncle. He was always a very entertaining person to be around. His music and his jokes were appreciated by all and will be greatly missed. - Posted by: LINDA SCHELL (family friend) on: Dec 13, 2012

  • George was our neighbour when we grew up on the farm so I have known him all my life. Quite often in the evening in the summer time my sister and I and the Schedler's would all go to the lake in the evening. George always loved to entertain us with his teasing and playing around. George was a very kind hearted, funny, and gentle natured person and I feel privileged to have known him. Rest in peace George. - Posted by: Ingrid Koch (Neighbour in the past.) on: Dec 13, 2012

  • Donny, Ruth and family, So sorry to hear about the passing of George. He always was a dear friend of the our family and helped us many times with the chores. I will miss his "Old MacDonald" song imitations. He will always have a special place in our hearts. - Posted by: Diana Buschau (Koch) (Formerly a neighbour and good friend) on: Dec 13, 2012
