ROZALIA SZKWAREK (nee MIKOS) October 1, 1924 December 12, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Holy Family Personal Care Home. In 2002, Rozalia was predeceased by Kazimierz her husband of 56 years, parents Zofia and Jan Mikos, sister Jadwiga (Bronislaw) Rapala and brothers-in-law Waclaw Krupinski and Mieczyslaw Rejkowicz and also her son-in-law Micheal Hawrylak. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her children, Zofia (Andy) Szukiewicz, Ludwik (Lucy) Szkwarek, Kazimiera (Zbigniew) Zapasek, Jozef (Candyce) Szkwarek and Maria Hawrylak; grandchildren, Joanna (Alex) Smith, Richard Szukiewicz and Elise Wood, Micheal Szkwarek, Theresa Szkwarek and Denis Nolette, Aemilia (Chris) Kwasniowski, Matthew Hawrylak, Jaclyn (Mark) Motach, Joseph Szkwarek and Ashley Kwiatkowski, Kathryn Szkwarek, Gregory, James and Natalie-Rose Zapasek, as well great-grandchildren, Stephan, Julia, Max, Luke, Hailey, Elliot, Patrick; brothers Bronislaw (Krystyna) Mikos, sisters Eleonora Krupinska, Stefania Rejkowicz, Wladyslawa (Wladyslaw) Reczkowski and numerous nephews and nieces in Poland and New York, USA. Mother was a very strong, determined, kind and gentle woman who was deeply rooted in her faith in God. Her life was dedicated to her family and service to others. Her pride and joy were her family and she cherished spending time with all. Rozalia enjoyed numerous visits to family in Poland. She belonged to Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church since her arrival to Canada in 1961. She worked as a Health Care Aide at St. Joseph's Residence Personal Care Home for 26 years. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the dedicated staff on St. Anne 3A at Holy Family Personal Care Home for the compassion and loving care given to our mother If friends so desire, in lieu of floral tributes, contributions can be made in her memory to the Holy Family Personal Care Home. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave with an Oblate Father celebrant.
