MARILYN JOSEPHINE PARTRIDGE (nee CESAR) September 15, 1955 - December 21, 2012 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, baba, sister, aunt and friend Marilyn Partridge on December 21, 2012. Marilyn is survived by her husband Tom; children Blaine, Melissa, Brad (Kyla), and Richard (Kelly) Andrusko; grandchildren Brady, Matty and Paige; siblings Stella Trochim, Pearlie (Paul) Gigolyk, Nellie-Ann (John) Tepper, Einar (Frances) Cesar, and Linda (Ron) Klim; sister-in-law Myrna and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father Pearl and Joseph Cesar; siblings Jennie King, Catherine Guillimaud, John Cesar, and Joseph Cesar; brothers-in-law Tony King, Pete Trochim, Willie Rogers, John Gigolyk, and Frank Wozny and sister-in-law Barbara Partridge. Marilyn was truly one of a kind, she had a beautiful spirit and was extremely thoughtful, caring and generous. She would be there at the drop of a hat to do anything to help anyone, especially in a time of need. Her friendly smile, positivity and strong belief that everything happens for a reason was contagious. Her home and kitchen were open to all 24 hours a day seven days a week. Many people came to know her as mom and all were amazed at how many tasks such a tiny woman like her would accomplish on a daily basis. Marilyn was born at the Selkirk General Hospital and grew up on St. Peters Road in East Selkirk. She attended Happy Thought School, graduated from the Lord Selkirk Comprehensive High School and Red River Community College. In her early years she worked as a dental assistance. Marilyn left this profession to help start-up TNT Plumbing & Heating with her husband Tom over 35 years ago. Marilyn and Tom met while attending school and married April 28, 1973. They remained in Selkirk where they raised their three children and continued to grow their family business. Over the years she enjoyed her many trips to Las Vegas and weekends at country festivals with her husband Tom and many friends. She could always be seen driving her children around to all their sporting events or taking them away for a weekend shopping trip in Grand Forks. She loved spending weekends with her family at the lake, camping or simply curled up on the couch with them and her animals watching movies and eating popcorn and teen burgers. She was known by all for her big heart and was most happy when she was giving and helping others. She took great pleasure in having numerous family and friends over for holiday meals and regular Sunday BBQ's. She loved to cook and didn't know when to stop cooking - everyone knew to come back the next day for leftovers. She cherished spending time with all her grandchildren and took great joy in spoiling them. (What happens in Baba's house, stays in Baba's house). She was so proud to be a grandmother. She also kept a special place in her heart for her cat and baby Gizmo. During the last four years Marilyn helped raised money for and walked in CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life 20km walk. Over the last few months she was able to see firsthand what all her hard work was for. She was proud to have made her contribution to such a wonderful foundation. Always in our hearts - Goda nott Baba - Miss you, Love you! Special thanks for the wonderful care and support from all the staff at Selkirk District General Hospital and their Palliative Care Program. Also a special thanks to all the family and friends that have shown us tremendous support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at the Christ Church in Selkirk, Manitoba on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. An interment is scheduled for a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Onske, Alfred Michaud, Rick Riding, Ron Kotowich, Lorne Clarke and Darryl Bannish. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
