Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE MARIE NORMA TETRAULT (nee ST. GODARD) June 20, 1918 - December 24, 2012 Peacefully on December 24, 2012, with family by her side, the Lord called her home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfrid, mother Albertine Gauthier, brother Bob, sister Vivian Thomas, niece Monica St. Goddard and nephew David Wright. Lorraine is survived by her nieces and nephews: Diane Lough (Doug), Gerard Wright (Joan), Bob St. Goddard (Willi), Brian St. Goddard and Terri Petit (Paul), as well as many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Lorraine retired from a career at Eatons. She was a long-time member of the Third Order and sang in the St. Boniface Cathedral Choir for many years. Lorraine had a love for animals. She would take in any animal in need and always donated to the Humane Society. She also sponsored a child with Canadian Save the Children. Lorraine wanted to share this poem with you. I'm Free Don't grieve for me for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow: I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full I've savoured much, My husband Wilfrid, my mom, my family, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Actionmarguerite (Foyer Valade) for your kindness and wonderful care. God bless you all! Funeral mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 31 at the St. Boniface Cathedral with viewing at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Actionmarguerite (Foyer Valade): Residents Activity Fund, 450 River Road, Winnipeg MB R2M 5M4 or to a charity of your choice. Our family has had the good fortune to meet Lorraine Tetrault 30 years ago when we moved to Langevin Street. Lorraine was our neighbor across the street and had lived at 518 Langevin for over 65 years in the same home and was known to all around her. She had a special way about her and made everyone feel welcomed. She was a shining example of grace, generosity and love. Ten years after moving to Langevin Street our first child, Alanna was born. Lorraine shared in our joy too. Lorraine was the first to look after Alanna as a small baby. The two grew a special bond. Lorraine was sort of an "Aunty" and a "Nanny" and combined she became our special "NANTY". When our son Robert was born, that tradition continued. As Alanna and Robert grew, they would often visit at Nanty's home and play the organ for her. Both children have fond memories of Nanty's delight as they played a tune for her. Neither child had any musical training, but in Nanty's eyes, she made them both feel as though they were Concert Pianists. That was Lorraine's magic. She had a way of making you feel special. She was kind and a perfect example of a lady. Nanty attended many of our family gatherings to celebrate birthdays and holidays. In our hearts, she was a member of our family too. Anyone who knew Lorraine loved her. In our neighborhood when the snow would fall, it seemed as though there was a race between neighbors to clear her sidewalk. So many people loved her and wanted to give back some of the love that she gave, in any small way we could. Lorraine was an early riser. Each day when we awoke, we could look out the window to see the lights on at her home. Seeing that, you knew the day was going to be OK. Lorraine had a deep and strong faith and was a very independent lady. Many admired her ability to live in her home as long as she did. She was truly a blessing to all, who had the good fortune to know her. We love you Nanty, we will miss you, but know, that you are at peace with all your loved ones in heaven. Love Alain, Diana, Alanna & Robert Perron @ 519 Langevin. - Posted by: Alain, Diana, Alanna & Robert Perron (Friends and Neighbor) on: Dec 31, 2012

Aunty Lorraine: You have had a tremendous impact on so many peoples' lives in so many ways. You were the true definition of a "lady" and loved by all who were fortunate enough to have known you. Paul and I, and our family will remember you always and cherish the wonderful memories we have of you. Rest in peace Aunty and God Bless and keep you always. - Posted by: Terri and Paul Petit (Niece and Nephew-in-Law) on: Dec 28, 2012

As my family's closest neighbour, Lorraine Tetrault was a part of my life from the day I was born. Our very dear friend was a part of every major (and minor) event in our family's lives and was defintely loved as one of the family. She was as caring, thoughtful, and supportive as she was funny and lively. Her charming singing voice, her love of animals and her infectious smile will always hold a very special place in my heart. Thank-you Lorraine for the joy, the memories and the influence you had on my life. - Posted by: Colette Soulodre () on: Dec 28, 2012
