ANIMA TAGORE With love and deep respect we bid farewell to our beloved mother and grandmother or Thakuma, Anima Tagore. Mother of Prasun and Bansari Tagore of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grandmother of Proma Tagore and Shaunga Tagore, Anima was a long time resident of Manitoba. Anima Tagore was born on February 8, 1922, as Anima Ghosal to her father Durgaprashad and mother Anubha. In April, 1943, she married Prabir Tagore, grandson of Satyendranath Tagore, who was the elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore. She immigrated to Canada in 1990 and after 22 years of living an extremely busy and colourful life in both Dauphin and Winnipeg, she breathed her last breath on December, 27, 2012 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. She is survived by her only son Prasun Tagore, daughter-in-law Bansari, and two granddaughters Proma and Shaunga, as well as many nieces, nephews, and relatives in North America and India. She is loved and will be missed by family, friends and community. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. We are also hosting the services and Preetibhoj on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Hindu Temple and the Hindu Centre located at 999 St. Anne's Road. The Preetibhoj or lunch will take place at the Temple after the morning services at 12:00 noon. Please join us to pay respect to the departed soul, and to honour and celebrate Anima's life.
