MARYANN CECILIA URBAN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maryann Urban on December 30, 2012 at the age of 70 years. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Irene Schmecko and one sister. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, Helmut; Sister Patricia Chambers; her one nephew and three nieces. Maryann was born in Winnipeg on May 6, 1942 and grew up and resided in the Fort Garry area. She was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family; she also enjoyed her part-time position outside the home at The University of Manitoba in the Dean's Office where she worked until her retirement in 1995. Maryann had many passions including gardening, flowers and travelling. Together she and Helmut travelled the world with some of their favorites being Europe (especially Portugal) and Hawaii. Prayer Services will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway. Family would like to send a special thank you to all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
