PAUL HACAULT With great sadness and love, we would like to announce the passing of Paul Hacault on Tuesday, January 2, 2013, at the age of 87 years, after a brief illness at the St. Boniface Hospital. Paul will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Cecile Hacault; children, Paulette Crampton (Sam), Lorraine (Tony), Daniel (Debbie), Ernest (Cheryl), Lewis (Susan), Marie and James (Aleasha); 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his siblings, Etienne, Marguerite De Roo, Yvonne Hinks, Laurent (Joyce), Edouard (Patty), Jacqueline (Robert) Marginet, Albert, and Rita (Glen) Howell and two brothers-in-law Raymond Van Den Bosche and Ben Robidoux. He was predeceased by his father Jean Louis and his mother Alice (née Simoens); sisters, Georgette Robidoux, Marie (Dennis) Tessier and Agnes Van Den Bosche. Paul was born in Bruxelles, Manitoba August 18, 1925. He married Cecile Chevalier October 30, 1951. After their marriage Paul and Cecile settled on a farm in Mariapolis. He was an excellent mechanic and spent countless hours in his shop repairing not only his own machinery but also his neighbours'. Paul was always an active member in his parish, the credit union and the Mariapolis Co-op. Paul retired from farming in 1991 but continued helping his sons with their farms. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and spent many hours in his wood working shop until failing eyesight curtailed his activities. Paul's children and grandchildren all have lovely examples of his craftsmanship in their homes. The family extends a special thank-you to the caring staff at St. Boniface Hospital and also to the quick response of the Winnipeg EMT. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Assumption Church in Mariapolis, Manitoba with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Eulogy, video tribute and music will take place prior to the Mass. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, C1026-409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. he was a really great guy -- got to know him really well when I worked in Mariapolis and he was President of the Board of the Mariapolis Co-op -- learned alot from him, listening to him and Lou shoot the breeze and solve all the world's problems everyday -- smart, wicked funny, and always treated me with great respect which I greatly appreciated -- and more then that his pride and love for his family was always very evident -- although I saw him rarely in recent years I will always have very fond memories of him both as a customer and a more importantly as a really good person - Posted by: Kathy Almey () on: Jan 05, 2013

What a lovely man Paul was and such a fantastic gardener. Thank you Paul for the lovely teddy bear shelf you gave to our first son Evan. It still has a prized spot in his siblings room.I hope you can teach Evan how to garden when you see him. - Posted by: Morley and Heather Howell (Nephew (son of Rita)) on: Jan 04, 2013
