Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELLEN LAIRD (nee HOUSE) Peacefully, surrounded by her children, Ellen passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Ellen is lovingly remembered by her five children Robert, Bill (Kim), David (Bev), Rhonda (Elie) Chappellaz and Crystal (Jeff Gray), six grandchildren Caitlin, Emily, Heather, Andrew, Dillan and Jordan, two brothers Ray and Ron, sister Dot, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Andy and grandson Brett. Ellen loved life and it loved her back. She was a proud and caring woman. The family would like to thank her friends at Kenbur Gardens for their tremendous care and support. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
