Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATILDA JANE LUPYRYPA It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Matilda Jane Lupyrypa on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Gimli Community Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Eugene (1973) our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will be sadly missed by her six children, Glenn (Annelise), Sharon (Gordon), Debby (Bruce), Bert (Lori), Allen (Perry), Raymond (Tracy), her 15 grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Cindy, Everett (Debbie), Dwayne (Shawna), Dustin, Dexter (Ashley), Clinton, Nicole (Scott), Aiden, Kaelyn, Garet, Brennan, Hunter and Brooke and her four great-grandchildren Shayden, Tanner, Rylan and Kyler. Also left to mourn are her sister Vanda (Eddy), brother Teddy (Marie), sisters-in-law Leona (Mac), Martha and Joyce along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by her father Michael, mother Katherine, sisters Gertie, Nellie and Susan, brothers Stanley and John, brother-in-law Walter, sister-in-law Anne and grandson Brent. Matilda was born in Gimli on August 22, 1932 where she resided her entire live. She married Eugene in 1952, and soon after had the first of her six children. Sadly after 21 years of marriage, Eugene died suddenly at the age of 46 leaving Matilda, aged 41, a single mother of six. Matilda rose to the occasion. She found work in Gimli at the Viking Motor Hotel, Industrial Park - CN and Rec Centre as a cook where she worked for 30 odd years to support and provide for her family. Family was everything to Mom. She was happiest when family and friends came to visit her. She was a wonderful hostess and always had something to offer you. Her other interest were the outdoors, from flower and vegetable gardens, watching birds, sitting on her deck and enjoying the sunshine to swimming and relaxing in the water. She took a genuine interest in everyone's lives and prayed for their happiness. Mom we thank you for your unconditional love. You will be sorrowfully missed. After a long fight with multiple illnesses it is time for you to rest in peace knowing you were loved by so many. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Gimli MB With Father Art Seaman officiating. Interment will follow at Gimli Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Family would like to thank Asper Centre, St Boniface Geriatric Ward-Wpg, Gimli Community Health Centre, all doctors, nurses and aides for all the special care given to our mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Matilda's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E OV9.
