HUI ENG PEI It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hui Eng Pei at Seven Oaks Hospital on January 9, 2013 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Beijing on September 16, 1923. She was the third of nine siblings. She married Chin Chun Pei, an Air Force Officer like her father when she was 19 years old and followed wherever his assignments led throughout China. She lived in Taiwan for 20 years before she moved to Canada to be closer to her children. She was predeceased by her husband in 1983. Left to mourn her passing are daughters Yun Shih of Winnipeg, Roong Lam of Victoria, Ling Irwin (Douglas) of Las Vegas, sons Peter Pei and Lee Pei of Winnipeg. She also leaves behind grandchildren Julie Shih (Rob Schultz) with son Jessie of New Jersey, Jun Shih (Terry) with daughters Kelly and Andrea of Calgary, Bryan Lam (Dr. Janice Pan) with sons Lukas and Logan of Winnipeg, Nancy Lam (Morgan Harker) with daughters Jamie and Peyton of Victoria, Deloris Irwin (Rick Benway) with daughters Kayley of Virginia, Matthew Irwin of Las Vegas, Mindy Pei of Vancouver, and Katie Pei of Calgary. She devoted her life to her family whole heartedly with love and will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
