PATRICIA LEONA KIHN June 20, 1945 - January 6, 2013 Pat passed away at the Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, Manitoba on January 6, 2013. Sister Pat was born June 20, 1945 in Huby, Yorkshire, England. Dad Leo was demobilized and sent home later that year by the Second World War troop ship. In 1946 mom Kathleen and Pat began their long journey to Canada, crossing the Atlantic via the then troop ship "The Queen Mary". Pat attended Manitou Elementary and public schools. At age 17 she joined the Royal Bank in Manitou. Pat was promoted and moved to Winnipeg where she served in management positions till her retirement in 2000 with 38 years' service. Pat was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Manitou Branch. She served with distinction as Branch President for many years. Pat was very proud of her family's strong and continued tradition of military service. Pat was predeceased by her mom, Kathleen (2003) and sister-in-law Donna Kihn (1982). Pat is survived by her dad Leo, sister Sandra (Ken Dobson), brother Ken (Lilly) and special niece Sherry (Joe Lafortune), Special nephews David Dobson (Sarah Stumborg) and Clay Kihn (Amanda). Pat is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces in the United Kingdom, whom she enjoyed visiting in England on many occasions. Also many special family and friends locally. Pat also was proud of her great nieces and nephews Jessica, Christian, Jeremy, Ryan and Mason. It is the family's wish to inter Pat's ashes at the family plot in Manitou in a summer graveside service. Forever an especially kind and generous daughter, sister and aunt you will always be missed dear girl by every one of us. The family wants to thank everyone for their assistance and love towards Pat and us. Irene, a true friend, first in line with Pat at many bake sales and farmers markets. Pat really enjoyed your times together whether dining out after an appointment or their daily telephone chats. Kathy, for your help over the holiday season. Marilyn another very helpful friend. Pat loved the annual birthday breakfasts with Florence and yourself. Meryl and Garry for your help at so many times. These are just a few who cared about Pat and assisted her at different times.
