TERESA PAULINE BOSSUYT
Date of Passing: Jan 14, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERESA PAULINE BOSSUYT September 5, 1963 - January 14, 2013 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister and aunt. "Terry" leaves to mourn her parents, Polly and Lorne of Oak Bluff, MB, sisters Lorna (Bruce) Brezden of Dauphin, MB, Krista (Marc) Thevenot and Lisa (Gordon) Whalen, her beloved nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Terry was raised on the family grain and dairy farm. She was always a hard worker, doing her chores in the barn, weeding corn fields with her cousins, and helping Mum in the garden and house. As a child, her never-ending curiosity at the farm often ended with trips to the hospital. As a teenager, she doted on her younger sisters, sewing us beautiful outfits for our Barbie dolls, curling our hair and making us caramel popcorn and peanut brittle. Terry loved animals, especially her four legged friend, Callie. Terry graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Human Ecology. From the beginning of her career, she was the consummate professional and excelled in everything she did. Throughout her career, her responsibilities changed, but she always followed her interests - people, fashion, and food. Terry was one of the kindest, generous, and most positive people you would ever meet. She always made people feel welcome with a warm smile and open arms. She always put other people ahead of herself and was always thinking of kind things to do for them. She always focused on the good in other people and in her own life, even in the last few years as her health failed. By far the greatest light in Terry's life were her nieces and nephews. "Aunty Ter" was always up for hosting impromptu sleepovers, which included cooking or baking up something special, doing crafts, or watching movies with them. She absolutely adored her nieces and nephews and doted on them at every opportunity. Her conversations generally included updates on their accomplishments and their latest mischievous antics. Terry had many talents and displayed great style in everything she did. Her passion for foods and textiles was evident in her life. She was an excellent cook and baker. Somehow she just knew what ingredients and amounts to mix together to make beautifully styled and tasty dishes, which she would share with her family and friends or, for a few seasons, with Great Tastes of Manitoba television audiences. She was also a gifted seamstress. She loved gardening and took great pride and enjoyment in her beautiful flower gardens. Terry looked forward to her volunteering at the Kiev Pavilion at Folklorama every summer where she took great pride in her Ukrainian heritage and her traditional Ukrainian dress. Throughout her life, Terry displayed true compassion, love, and generosity that will be forever admired and cherished by her family and friends. She is greatly missed. Private Family prayers will be said on Friday January 18, 2013. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vital Parish Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. at Manahan Avenue on Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Barry Schoonbaert as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Thomson "In the Park" Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, https://jdrfca.donordrive.com or 1101 - 191 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1.
