Dora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Noël in 2007, as well as her parents Aimé and Albina Hébert, her brothers Louis Aimé, Léo and sister Réjane Thille, grandson Curtis Ramsay, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Dora will be lovingly remembered by her children Suzanne Bédard, Noëlla Ramsay (Dave), Anita Bourget (Dan), Guy (Jan), René (Linda), Monique (Conrad Wyrzykowski), Donat (Debbie Isaak), Aline Chartrand (Sherman), Thérèse Trudeau (Norm LeBleu); her grandchildren, Michelle (Jayson), David, Brigitte (Andrew), Stacey (Jeff), Justin, Natalie, Darryl (Cassandre), Jeffrey (Samantha), Michael, Julie, Léanne, Dayna, Adam, Kevin, Angela, Roxanne (Mike), Ryan, Jérémie, Janelle, Nicole, Eric and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Carson, Zenon, Easton, Dante, Eris, Saige, Carys, Jett, Cohen, Deklyn and Casey. She is survived by her sister Rita Barbe (Emile), in-laws, Louis, Eva, Emma, Claire, Jeannine, Renée, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dora was born on November 12, 1925 in Transcona. She was raised in Aubigny, and attended school in St. Lazare where she was a boarder at a Grey Nuns convent. Dora completed her high school in St. Boniface attending l'Académie St. Joseph and then obtained her post-secondary education in secretarial management. Dora started her career at Gaspard and Sons as Mr. Gaspard's personal stenographer and office administrator. She married Noël in 1948, and they bought a small house on Speers Road, in an undeveloped suburb of St. Boniface, now Windsor Park. They began their family in 1951 and started to build their new home on the same property in 1953. This is when Dora decided to quit her job and be a full time mom, cook, nurturer, couturière, and budget manager. During their 59 years of marriage, Dora and Noël strived to provide a comfortable home raising their large family. Dora was a practical and fair person who always found a way to make ends meet. She was involved in the Girl Guide Movement and La Ligue des femmes catholiques. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bowling, playing whist and cribbage with friends and family, as well as spending time at Albert Beach, and travelling. One of Dora's fondest memories was her visit to Jerusalem. As a woman of great devotion to her family and religion, Dora will be remembered for her patience, gentle nature and for her regular attendance at mass, believing deeply in the tenets and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff at the Actionmarguerite - Foyer Valade for the care that they have provided to Dora over the past eight years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with eulogy at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens Church, 289 Dussault Avenue. Interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora's memory to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
