Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST JOSEPH EMMANUEL BALE September 12, 1922 January 28, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 90. Ernest will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Louise (Dave), Yvonne (Jack), Annette (Jerry), Lucille, Rose (Jim), Doris (Ray), Albert, Irene (Mel) and Lorraine (Dale), 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers Raymond (Elsie) and Emmanuel and sisters Alice and Bernice (Jack) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by our mother, Angelique, in April 2010, his mother Ludivine in 1950 and his father Emmanuel in 1937. Dad was born in Hodgson and raised in Fisher Branch, MB. His father passed at the age of 41 and Dad became the head of the household at the age of 14. Those were hard times. Dad enlisted in the Army in January 1943 and had various postings in Canada and overseas. He returned to civilian life August 13, 1946. He often talked about his time in Aleutian Islands and his posting to Portage la Prairie where he drove the boys to town . After the war, Dad returned to Fisher Branch and married Mom on August 21, 1950. They resided on a farm South of Fisher Branch where they devoted their lives to raising their nine children. Dad was a hardworking, patient man and enjoyed the outdoors. He will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Dad resided at the Fisher Branch Personal Care Home for the past three years. We can never thank the staff enough for all their love and attention to Dad. He felt like he was at home and was always treated like family. He continually mentioned to us how fortunate he was. We could not have asked for a better place for him to spend his last few years. Dad will always be remembered for his good nature, acceptance of everyone, sense of humour and smile. Cremation has taken place. The memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church followed by interment of remains in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Darius Biliran officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dad's memory to the Fisher P.C.H. Foundation Inc. would be greatly appreciated. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements.
