RANDY SIDEBOTTOM SERGEANT OF ARMS It is with heartfelt sadness that we make this announcement of Randy Sidebottom's passing at the Health Sciences Centre CancerCare on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, with Nancy, and family, at his bedside. Randy was born on August 29, 1956 in Winnipeg, MB. He was predeceased by his parents Allen and Kathleen Sidebottom and a grandson Dustin, in infancy, in Halifax, NS. Left to cherish his memory are, his loving partner of 12 years, Nancy and her family; his daughter Tara, two sons Allen and Rynn; two grandsons Daniel and Dylan, all of Halifax, NS. Randy joined the military at a tender age of 17, there he served for 22 and one half years, serving in six different countries in peace keeping. Randy was a paratrooper also, and later he became Sergeant Sidebottom. Randy was also a Red Seal Chef while in Britain. He prepared a luncheon for the Queen and her family, in Ottawa he prepared a dinner for the late Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Randy was very pleased that he was the chosen Chef for this event, Randy loved the military, it was his life. Randy was a great fisherman. Rain or shine you would see him standing on the bank of the lake of the prairies, waiting for that first bite. Randy also was very fond of animals, he had a pet dog named, Lady, that went everywhere with him. Randy loved cutting grass, his own, and wherever it needed cutting, he always planned ahead. A celebration of Randy's Life will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Hodgson Bible Church in Hodgson, MB at 1:00 p.m. with James Thiessen officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
