EMILE ANTOINE PONCHON Peacefully on February 5, 2013, with his loving wife and family at his side, Emile passed away at E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB. Emile was born May 4, 1931 in Fisher Branch, MB where he lived and farmed with his three brothers. He married Grace Thorimbert Giasson on October 22, 1977 where along with his new wife he gained four new daughters. A few years later they welcomed daughters Natalie and Louise. He was predeceased by his parents, Marius and Beatrice Ponchon. Emile is survived by his wife Grace, his daughters: Jacqueline Beaudry (Michael), Michelle Basaraba (Gordon), Diane Dandeneau (Randy), Jeannette Ryden (Jamie), Natalie Roth (Mark) and Louise Anderson (Kyle); his grandchildren: Taylor, Justin, Braden, Tiana, Abby and Alexander; his brothers and sister: Henri (Mary), Eugene, Antoine and Juliette Pinette (Rene), as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends. Emile had a special talent for carving, photography, restoring vintage tractors and farm machinery and had a passion for organic gardening. You could never leave the yard in the fall without a big bag of fresh vegetables. He will be forever remembered for his unwavering faith, devotion to his family, his generosity, kindness and sense of humour and his unforgettable stories. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel towards Dr. Arara, Dr. Zubert, and the nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale and CancerCare. The care he received was above and beyond. Emile touched the hearts of anyone who had the honour of meeting him. We will all miss him and hold him forever in our hearts. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
