MARY (HRYNOWSKI) CHERNEY Mary Cherney passed away peacefully February 1, 2013 in her 98th year. Born June 28, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mary was predeceased by her husband Dan Cherney as well as sisters Anna Shulyk, Katherine Keikush, Stella and Nellie Hrynowski. She is survived by her nephew Bill Shulyk (Thelma), nieces Pat Boudreau Keikush (Alan) and Evelyn Dunlop (Stewart) as well as grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. Mary lived with Dan in Toronto for many years, returning to Winnipeg in retirement to be close to her family. She lived in her own home until 2010 when she relocated to Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street. There she remained active, socially involved until recent months. Her sense of humour and twinkling blue eyes always lifted the spirits of others. We wish to thank Lions Manor staff for their wonderful, considerate, thoughtful and supportive care. A very special thank you goes to Mary's companion, Lido Panganiban and her family, for her tireless dedication to Mary's well-being. Lido's friendship, her cheery and energetic presence was a gift for Mary every visit. Funeral service will take place 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Service will terminate at the Chapel and a private interment will take place.
